Junior Goalkeeping Training

Junior Goalkeeper Training

Hale Hockey Club has a rich history of playing and developing some of the State’s best goalkeepers, including current and recent Kookaburra players. Last season also saw six of our junior keepers selected for State representation. The Club invests heavily in its junior goalkeepers, and technical training for junior keepers will run on Monday evenings at 5.15pm, commencing on Monday 26th February. These fun but challenging goalkeeper training sessions will be run by Andrea Reinhart, the club’s Premership Ladies 1st team goalkeeper, and Jason Vuletich, the State Country Men’s Team goalkeeper. New keepers, or players who want to give goalkeeping a try are very welcome, and this year we are particularly keen to encourage Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 girls to give it a go. Suitable protective equipment will be provided by the Club.

Goalkeeper trials and selection will be run at the training sessions on 11 March and 18 March (there will no training on 4 March due to the WA Labor Day weekend). These sessions will be used to grade Year 7/8, Year 9/10 and Year 11/12 goalkeepers for their teams and all prospective keepers should attend. The Club has a particularly strong representation of boys keepers this year.
Enjoy your week.
